The Traditional Table Ordering for October is OPEN!

Our first order of the year was a HUGE success and the Brewer’s Organics Produce Boxes were a hit! Customers who ordered produce are telling us how much they loved the the selection AND quality of the produce!! We’d encourage you to try one this month! And while you are ordering, why not try a pound of pastured ground beef or nitrate free hot dogs? Many parents have told us that once they tried it, their families didn’t want to go back to grocery store meat!

Orders and payments are due on Tuesday, Oct 25. Pick up will be Thursday, November 3 from 4-5 pm. Please note, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY PAPER REMINDERS about this sale this year, so you might want to put the deadlines on your calendar so you don’t miss them.

Enjoy a fun breakfast with your kids while learning about the
many volunteer opportunities for dads at Woodside.

and water will be served in the school cafeteria with
a short presentation at 8:00 a.m. The event will conclude by

Cub Scouting Fun at Every Turn

Attention Woodside Boys!

You and your parent(s) are invited to join Cub Scout Pack 175 for a night of Carnival Fun. They are always looking for enthusiastic young boys to join their pack. They do lots of fun things throughout the year. Some of the many things they have already planned are camping, archery, crafts, Pinewood Derby, and much, much more.

Fun Run 2016

Woodside Fun Run is NEXT FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH!!!

 

On Friday, September 30th Each grade will participate together for 15 minutes during their lunch recess. (Exact times for each grade will be sent home next week). The object is to KEEP MOVING for 15 minutes and have fun! Families are encouraged to attend and cheer their child on during their run. Make signs, bring noise makers, and have fun!

Remember, if each child collects $30 we will reach our goal of $19,000! We have lots of great prizes starting with just one pledge.  You can earn even more prizes for collecting $30, $85 or $150.  Our TOP FUNDRAISING STUDENTS will receive Target gift cards!

Please turn all pledges into your teacher by Friday morning.  Make all checks payable to Woodside Home and School. If you have more than one child please send separate checks if possible.  If sending one check, please clearly indicate on the check how much should be applied to each child to make prize distribution run smoothly!

Crayola ColorCycle Now Underway

crayolaccDo you have dried out markers at home? Send them in to school with your child! We are collecting dried markers of any type or brand for the Crayola Colorcycle program. They take our used markers and have them transformed into fuel, rather than sending them to the landfill. Students will also be taking dried out markers from the classroom and collecting them in bins around the school. Last year, families and classrooms at Woodside were able to keep around 775 markers out of landfills! If you have markers to recycle, please send them in a Ziploc type bag with your student. Don’t throw out that used marker – Colorcycle it!

Country Springs Passes Now On Sale!

Country Springs passes are on sale again starting Friday, September 23rd until Friday, October 14th. Attached is the information flyer and the order form. The restriction dates and the expiration date are listed on the order form, the information flyer, and the passes. The orders will be filled as orders are received.

Traditional Table is Back

Welcome back! I know many of you have been eagerly anticipating this order after 4.5 months off!!

So, here it is! And we have some really fun news! In addition to the returning favorites like pastured and organically raised meat from Ney’s Big Sky, sprouted grain bread from Angelic Bakehouse, gluten free pastas from Andean Dream, and more…we have a BRAND NEW VENDOR! Brewer’s Organics has joined our network of farmers and businesses who are helping us raise money for your school!

Brewers Organics is a local organic produce delivery service who shares our desire to support local farms and businesses and our passion for getting the best quality foods into the kitchens of busy families!

They will offer produce boxes in 2 sizes. The Standard Produce Box will contain 10-12 different produce items to serve a typical family of 4. The Large Produce Box will contain 18+ different items for larger families, families who love to cook, or who have vegan/vegetarian members. Most of the produce will be familiar (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, melon, apples, etc.) but they will add 1 or 2 items that are less familiar (eggplant, pluots, pea shoots, etc.) to allow your family to try something new! These boxes will be less than the retail cost, plus you save shipping. They are such a good deal! Plus, picking them up with the rest of your Traditional Table order means this could be your only grocery trip for the week!

Just as with every month…

  1. All the products we offer are organically grown or raised, contain no artificial ingredients or Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), contain limited or no sugar (and only natural sugars) and fat from healthy sources
  2. Our animal products are from animals on pasture. Animals on pasture are eating what THEY were designed to eat, which is better for the animals, better for the environment, and better for us!
  3. Our prices are often LESS THAN RETAIL for the same or similar products, so even your budget wins!

Ordering is now open for this month. Orders are due Tuesday, Sept 27. Just order online, then send your payment into school by that date.

Pick up is Thursday, Oct 6 from 4 – 5 pm in the Woodside gym (please note earlier time). Don’t forget your own bag, box or cooler to carry your items home!

Bricks 4 Kidz – Robotics!

Bricks 4 Kidz turned one of its most popular summer camps into and after school class at your school! Jr. Robotics offers all the fun of building with LEGO® bricks, PLUS the challenge of computer programming! Using drag-and-drop icon-based software, WeDo software provides an introduction into the world of computer-programming and robotics that will equip children to succeed in a technology-based marketplace.

In this fun, action-packed 6 week session, we’ll be working in the factory to discover how things are made. Have you ever wanted to operate the big machines in a factory or work a crane? Our Factory Fun session builds kid-sized versions of some clever factory creations, such as scissor lift, specialized conveyor belts and even a robot, then programming them to to complete Bricks 4 Kidz challenges!

  • Kids get to take home their own custom mini-figures at the end of the six week session.

  • This is an entry level class. No previous programming or building experience is required.

Woodside Spirit Day is Friday, September 30th, so that means it’s time to order your WOODSIDE SPIRIT WEAR!!! Please click on the link to place your order. Final Flabbergast Passes on Sale Now Through May 31st!

Summer is almost here – so pickup your Flabber 5 Pass for those upcoming hot or rainy summer days!! Each pass costs $25.00 and includes 5 separate admissions to Flabbergast, which can be used for five separate visits, or up to five children in one single visit!! There is no expiration date and no black-out dates, so stock up now and also help support Woodside Home & School. All order forms and checks made payable to Woodside Home and School should be forwarded to school by Tuesday, May 31st, for delivery via kid mail by Friday, June 3rd (tickets will be delivered weekly as orders arrive or contact Christine Kearney at kearney.christine@ymail.com or 262-372-4107 to make special arrangements).
